Orphan’s Assistance & Rescue
A note from the directors: We ( Pat & Deb Wheeler ) took our first missions trip in 1988 to the country of Haiti and realized first hand the joy of serving others. We soon began leading teams ourselves, and then had the opportunity to go Thailand. In 1996 we liquidated our business’s, packed up and moved to Thailand.
Living in Thailand for these past years has been incredible in so many ways. We have raised our own two children in the Thai culture, and are continuing to bring orphaned children into our home. We have built homes for the poor and reached out to many hurting people in the hill tribes surrounding our area. We are always looking for opportunities where we can be a support to others.
Since we have been in Thailand, we have had guests and teams from over 12 countries come and be a part of what we are doing. We have been able to build lasting relationships and share our vision and needs for Thailand.
Jim and Pat Harris are the founders of Relevant Expeditions
They’ve been married since 1983 and have four children and 12 grandchildren. Pat is from Houston, Texas and Jim grew up on a farm in Waverly, MO. In the mid 90’s they planted and pastored a church in Carrollton, Missouri. In January of 1999 they moved to St. Louis, Missouri to prepare to move into full time mission work.
St. Louis is the American base for Relevant Expeditions and is where most of the Harris family re- sides. Early in 2005 Jim and Pat officially founded Relevant Expeditions as an evangelical and humanitarian global mission work. Initially they targeted Banda Ache, Indonesia in the wake of the tsunami of 2004. Relevant Expeditions responded with humanitarian and evangelical outreaches to the devastated survivors of the region.
Since then Relevant Expeditions has been sharing the Good News and bringing humanitarian aid to people in many parts of Asia including India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Malaysia, Timor, Myanmar, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Viet- nam, China, and Indigenous Australia.
We are evangelical humanitarians, Our Passion is Souls. Our Vision is the world.
Rita and Steve Stephanos were both saved in the early 1970s at the end of the Jesus Movement era when the charismatic renewal swept through upstate New York, resulting in the conversions of thousands of young “hippies.” Since then, their lives have geographically spanned North America.
Today they strengthen the ekklesia worldwide through practical instruction and impartation of prophetic, apostolic, and radical grace themes, with strong emphases on the Person and Work of Jesus Christ and the outworking of the New Covenant in the life of the believer. They also emphasize the importance of understanding Semitic/Mediterranean basin culture and context when studying, interpreting, and applying the scriptures, especially the importance of understanding Jewish/Semitic worldview and values.
They are also passionate for the manifestation of the full spectrum of "Holy Spirit" issues (gifts, ministries, healings, miracles, etc.) without the latent Gnosticism, baggage, freneticism, nonsense, control, fakery, and hype that so frequently accompany these things. VISIT THEIR SITE / CLICK HERE
